ADAPT (Addiction, Depression, Anxiety, Plant medicine Treatment) is a grassroots organization based in Washington state. Our mission is to advocate for the responsible use of psilocybin-assisted therapy and decriminalization of small amounts of entheogens. We believe that psilocybin, along with other entheogens, have the potential to revolutionize mental health care.
Our Goal
Our goal is to pass a voter-based initiative that will make psilocybin-assisted therapy legal within the state of Washington. Our initiative also includes decriminalization of low-levels of Entheogens. We are inspired by the success of Colorado and envision a similar system as Oregons 109 and Colorados Plant Medicine Initiative -which passed with voters support.
Current Status
As of now, no specific bill or initiative legalizing psilocybin-assisted therapy has been passed in Washington state. However, many cities have successfully decriminalized Entheogens, like Seattle, Olympia, and Port Angeles. However, there is a growing interest amongst groups that would benefit, like Veteran’s, trauma-survivors, Indigenous groups utilizing similar medicines, and politicians and medical leaders-who see the benefits to theses therapies being accessible in safe and regulated ways.
Join us in our mission to raise awareness, support, and create a more compassionate mental health care system with access to healing for those in need.
